Heartfelt Taiwanese Series Forget You Not' Leaves Fans Emotional

When a story strikes a chord with viewers, it's impossible for people not to talk about it. Since its launch on May 23, the heartwarming Taiwanese drama series Forget You Not has garnered praise for its beautiful balance of comedy and drama. The series delicately explores themes of familial responsibility, aging and personal growth, moving many viewers to tears throughout its eight episodes. Within just 48 hours of its debut, Forget You Not topped the daily ranking for series in Taiwan for three days, and held a spot in the top 10 for four consecutive days. The series also made its mark in the weekly top 10 rankings (#2) in Taiwan, and daily ranking in Hong Kong for three days.

The series marks the series directorial debut of multi-talented actress and singer Ren Liu. Commenting on the audiences reception, Liu shares, "Some viewers said they went through lots of tissues - they even joked that we owe them tears. Reading these reactions, I feel both happy and heartbroken - happy that this quiet series was embraced by so many, and heartbroken because the scenes that made you cry might have actually happened in your own lives. Telling a story we deeply feel with sincerity, and having it connect with people who understand - thats truly wonderful. Let's continue to cry together and laugh together."

Hsieh Ying-xuan, who portrays Cheng Le-le - a woman in her forties who faces life's many struggles and disappointments - captured the hearts of viewers, earning comments such as, Only Hsieh Ying-xuan can surpass Hsieh Ying-xuan, and I just want to say to Le-le: You've worked so hard!' Hsieh responds, "Cheng Le-le represents someone who is constantly caught up in life's small chores, leaving her feeling exhausted. After leaving a job midlife, she realizes the mediocrity both in her career and in life, coupled with the physical and mental exhaustion of being a caregiver - she has no motivation to move forward, but can only do her best to resolve one issue after another."

"I've received messages from viewers who are going through the same things. If this series can help inspire, accompany, or give a voice to people in similar situations, then I feel the show has already achieved its goal, Hsieh shares.

Chin Han, who made a highly anticipated return to acting, plays Hsieh's quirky father, Cheng Kuang-chi. His authentic portrayal of a loving father perfectly captured their bittersweet father-daughter relationship, receiving high praise from fans. Sentiments include, This casting is genius - Chin Han is quite literally Le-le's dad, and Even though I'm not from my parents' generation, I've totally fallen for Chin Han's charm.

In response to these positive reactions, Chin Han credits Director Liu. I'd say it was a beautiful journey. I'm grateful for the director's precise guidance, which meant I didn't have to force awkward facial expressions to play a sick old man. A smart director knows how to create the right environment, and when that happens, the actor naturally comes to life and feels authentic. Thank you, dear director! Chin Han says.

Set against a bustling city backdrop, Forget You Not explores the enduring power of memory within each family. Cheng Le-le (Hsieh Ying-xuan), a stand-up comedian and part-time convenience store employee, juggles her career and marriage. Though she dreams of a better future, she faces marital struggles with her husband, Chang Kai (Wallace Huo), and challenges with her father (Chin Han). These hardships spur her to embark on a courageous journey - one that redefines her relationship with her family, love and friendship.
