How I Met Object Matrix

Guilherme is a passionate veteran in the digital media industry. Since 1976, he has held several engineering and management positions at large broadcast networks, such as TV Globo in Brazil and AMPEX in California and Colorado.

In 1988, he co-founded CIS Group, a professional digital media systems integrator, headquartered in Florida and with offices in New York and Brazil.

In 2009 he co-founded GLOOKAST, a key provider of innovative workflows for content creation, media production and broadcast solutions.

Guilherme holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University Nuno Lisboa in Brazil and a SCPD from Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA.

He is married, has three sons and a grandson. Home is Fort Lauderdale, Florida, when he is not flying. Family is the pillar of his life. Loves dogs, whisky and fast cars. Gossip says he has a temper but he totally denies it.

The Reason Why I Believed in Object Matrix My connection with Object Matrix started at the very moment I got to talk to Nick. I could see and feel passion, persistence, great potential and genuine goodness! That is the best capital to found a business partnership, even if sometimes does not keep you sane. It lasts when fame and money fail, and is the only value we can take out of this world. First Met First met the Object Matrix team in 2011 when I visited Cardiff with colleagues from CIS and Glookast.

Object Matrix Comment: When I first met Guilherme (G, GF, the boss) he told me to go away. Undeterred I pestered him until he agreed to work with OM and represent us firstly in Brazil and later across Latin America. Since then our growing presence in Brazil speaks for itself and it is largely down to the passion, knowledge and incredible network that Guilherme has built up over his long and amazing career in the media industry.

From a personal perspective it is a bit cliched to say partners can become good friends but with Guilherme (and Marcia!) that has certainly been the case. Despite the stresses and strains, that come with selling to global broadcasters, the friendship has been solid. The advice given (sometimes given shouty style brandishing a blue cheese grater) has influenced our product and commercial roadmap. The trust he has placed in us humbling.

Thanks a lot G (and the whole CIS family) you have taught me, and OM, a lot!
