Three alumni from Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee have been nominated for 2023 Tony Awards in the major categories of Best Orchestrations, Best Revival of a Musical, and Best Revival of a Play.

Berklee College of Music alumnus Charlie Rosen '12 received his third Tony Award nomination, for Best Orchestrations, for his work on Some Like It Hot with fellow orchestrator Bryan Carter. Rosen, who is also a Grammy winner, won his first Tony in 2020 for his work co-orchestrating Moulin Rouge! The Musical. His Broadway credits include Be More Chill, Prince of Broadway, A Strange Loop, and American Psycho.

Boston Conservatory at Berklee alumnus Ben Simpson (B.F.A. '11, musical theater) was nominated as a producer for Parade in the category of Best Revival of a Musical. As a theatrical producer, Simpson has previously won two Tony Awards for his coproducing work on Hello, Dolly! and The Band's Visit.

Mike Mosallam (B.F.A. '06, musical theater) received a pair of nominations as part of the production teams for Parade, nominated for Best Revival of a Musical, and A Doll's House (Amy Herzogs version), nominated for Best Revival of a Play. Mosallam returned to the Conservatory to direct students in a production of Stephen Karam's 2012 Pulitzer Prize-nominated play Sons of the Prophet in 2017.

Additional Berklee alumni are featured in several Tony-nominated productions this year. From the Conservatory: associate alumnus Nicholas Christopher ('09) plays Pirelli in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, nominated for Best Revival of a Musical; March nt Davis (B.F.A. '13, musical theater) plays several characters in Best Play nominee Ain't No Mo'; Andrew Durand (B.F.A. '08, musical theater) plays Beau in Shucked, nominated for Best Musical; and Allison Blackwell (M.M. '04, musical theater) and Aaron Patterson (B.F.A. '21, musical theater) are part of the company of Best Musical nominee New York, New York. From the College: Alex Lacamoire B.M. '95 serves as musical director for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
