We are thrilled to share that Nielsen has been included for the fifth consecutive year among the world's top-performing companies for sustainability on the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). Announced in November 2021, Nielsen Holdings plc remains a member of the DJSI North America.
To be considered for inclusion, companies are evaluated alongside their peers on long-term environmental, social and governance (ESG) policies and actions through the annual S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). The DJSI North America Index includes the top 20% of the largest 600 North American companies in the S&P Global Broad Market Index.
In a year filled with so much change for Nielsen as a company and the world as a whole, we are so encouraged that Nielsen was again included in the 2021 Dow Jones Sustainability Index, said Andrea Bertels, Vice President, Corporate Citizenship, Nielsen. Nielsen's purpose is to power a better media future for all people, and external benchmarks like the DJSI help us continue to improve how we operate responsibly and sustainably to fulfill that purpose.

Through responsible, sustainable business practices and our commitment to giving back with volunteering and pro bono projects, we work to care for the communities and markets where we live and operate our business.
We congratulate Nielsen for being included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for North America, said Manjit Jus, Global Head of ESG Research, S&P Global. A DJSI distinction is a reflection of being a sustainability leader in your industry. The record number of companies participating in the 2021 S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment is testament to the growing movement for ESG disclosure and transparency.
Launched in 1999, the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) now include global, regional and country sustainability benchmarks. These Indices are reviewed and updated annually based on companies' S&P Global ESG Score from the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment, which evaluates the ESG performance of participating companies. In 2021, more than 10,000 publicly traded companies were invited to participate in the S&P Global CSA.
