Pulsar Audio introduce Vocal Studio

All-in-one vocal mixing plug-in announced

Pulsar Audio have announced the launch of a new all-in-one plug-in that brings together a selection of vocal processing tools. Aiming to offer an alternative to running multiple plug-ins, Vocal Studio makes it possible to quickly explore and audition a range of vocal sounds while still retaining full control over every detail.

Preamps & Dynamics At the start of Vocal Studio's signal chain is a preamp section that includes Solid State, Tube and Germanium modes, allowing users to dial in everything from vintage-inspired tones to clean, crisp modern sounds. The amount of saturation applied in each mode can be controlled using a Drive control. a Dynamics section follows, offering simple one-knob De-Ess, Gate and Compress controls, along with Natural, Modern and Gritty operating modes.

Helpfully, the first section also includes a Sensitivity control with a Learn button that can be used to set up Pulsar's Constant Gain Monitoring feature, which automatically adjusts the plug-in's output level as settings are adjusted.

EQ & Effects The next section is equipped with an EQ section that features a selection of preset curves with an EQ Amount control governing how heavily they are applied - there's also a Parametric mode that allows users to fine-tune the results. Alongside the EQ's visual display is a Focus dial, which engages a dynamic high-frequency EQ band designed to help vocals cut through a mix without introducing harshness or causing listening fatigue.

The lower section of the GUI houses delay and reverb modules, both of which offer a selection of different modes and come equipped with their own set of dedicated parameters, as well as a Special FX section that includes the following processors:

Wide Stereo: Creates an artificial stereo image from a mono source, for a wider and more immersive sound.

Thick Octave: Adds a voice one octave lower to enhance the low end.

Wide Octave: Combines a lower-octave voice with a stereo effect for a richer and more spacious sound.

Soft Breath: Adds a whispered voice effect - subtle and airy.

HF Whisper: Injects an airy effect into the high frequencies, bringing clarity and intimacy to the vocal.

Wide Whisper: Blends a whispered voice effect with stereo widening.

Classic Chorus: Applies a classic stereo chorus effect.

Phasy Motion: Produces a mono phaser effect for subtle modulation.

Wide Movement: Combines a mono phaser effect with stereo spatialisation.

Breathy Octave: Mixes a lower-octave voice with a breathy, whispered effect.

Ultra Large: Includes a lower-octave voice, a whispered effect and maximum stereo widening.

Compatibility Vocal Studio is supported on PCs running Windows 7 and above, and Macs running macOS 10.11 or later. VST2, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.

Pricing & Availability Vocal Studio is available now, and is being offered at an introductory price of $ 89 until 17 September 2025, when it will increase to its full cost of $ 199.
