5 psychological counseling offices on campus built in Yinzhou

Recently, Yinzhou Vocational Education Center passed the Class-A assessment of psychological counseling certification in Zhejiang Province. Meanwhile, 10 other schools, such as the Gulin Vocational High School, Yifu Middle School and Yunlong Town Middle School, passed the standard assessment for the third batch of psychological counseling offices in Ningbo.

So far, four schools in Yinzhou District have obtained the provincial certification of Class-A psychological counseling offices and 59 schools have passed the standard assessment. There are now 115 on-campus psychological counseling offices in the district, serving 138,000 juveniles. All the primary and middle schools in the district are equipped with professional psychological teachers and psychological counseling offices, and psychology lessons are given in all those schools.

Ningbo conducted a comprehensive survey on the psychological health of the primary and middle school students in 2013. According to the survey, 14% of primary school students and 13% of middle school students sere troubled by psychological problems. Early in 2012, Yinzhou District took the lead in the city to set up the psychological counseling stations and the primary and middle schools in the district began to hire professional psychology teachers. It has improved the assessment system for the psychology teachers in primary and middle schools and in every summer vacation, psychology training classes have been held for the related teachers and they are encouraged to attend the tests for psychology education certificate (level A, B and C). So far, there are 17 level-A teachers, 121 level-B teachers and 4449 level-C teachers in the district, accounting for 51.7% of all the primary and middle school teachers.
