How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris is turning heads in a new Netflix series, Uncoupled. In the eight-part comedy, Patrick Harris plays Michael, a gay New York real estate agent whose world is turned upside down after the end of a 17-year relationship. Uncoupled also marked Patrick Harris' first-ever on-screen gay sex scene and said he wasn't too worried about his nude scenes.

UNCOUPLED' Uncoupled sees Michael (Neil Patrick Harris) exploring life again as a single gay man after his partner Colin (Tuc Watkins) leaves him. The series was created by American producers Darren Star and Jeffery Richman. Star is best known for creating the Sex and the City series.

Uncoupled features a star-studded cast including Tisha Campbell, Emerson Brooks, Brooks Ashmanskas, Marcia Gay Harden and Ajay Naidu.

The series was officially released on Friday 29 July.

NEIL PATRICK HARRIS' FIRST ON-SCREEN GAY SEX SCENE Emmy-winning actor Neil Patrick Harris has his first on-screen gay sex scene with French actor Gilles Marini, best known for his role in Sex and the City.

I heard that it is better kissing another man than a woman and I can see this now. It is true what they say, the 49-year-old told Variety.

On his nude scenes, Patrick Harris said: I do legitimately feel more comfortable in my skin now than I did even five years ago.

NEIL PATRICK HARRIS' COMING OUT JOURNEY In 2006, Neil Patrick Harris publically came out as gay, saying he was living his life to the fullest . The talented actor confirmed his relationship with David Burtka the following year and they welcomed two children in October 2010.

The two officially tied the knot in 2014.
