MEDIAPRO Canada picks up rights to SheBelieves Cup and Concacaf Men's Olympic Qualifiers posted: 08/02/2021
OneSoccer to show live coverage of all Canada games in both tournaments
MEDIAPRO Canada has acquired the rights to two national team tournaments, the SheBelieves Cup and the CONCACAF Men's Olympic qualifying tournament, and will show live coverage of all Canada games on OneSoccer, its dedicated soccer channel available nationwide. Next week, OneSoccer will air live coverage of Canada Soccer's Women's National Team as they take on the USA, Brazil and Argentina in the SheBelieves Cup, the invitational soccer tournament for women's national teams hosted in the US by the United States Soccer Federation.
The six-game tournament will be held at the Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida, with Canada due to play the USA on Thursday February 18th, followed by matches against Argentina on the 21st and Brazil on the 24th; the tournament winner will be determined by total points. The event represents a unique double for the Canadian women: it is their first participation in the SheBelieves Cup, billed as the most elite four-team international tournament in women's soccer' and it marks incoming Head Coach Bev Priestman's debut at the helm of the national team.
In March, Canadian soccer fans will be able to tune in to OneSoccer to watch Canada Soccer's Men's National Team in action at the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying tournament as they battle to secure a place in the postponed Tokyo Symmer Olympic Games. The tournament, for U-23 players in line with Olympic regulations, will be held in Guadalajara, Mexico, from March 18th to 30th. Eight national teams have been drawn into two groups of four, with Canada in Group B together with Honduras, El Salvador and Haiti; the squad will kick off its Olympic quest with its first match against El Salvador on Friday March 19th. Both semi-final winners will qualify for the Men's Olympic tournament in Tokyo.
