Conference Programme Participation and Live Cloud Balancing Demonstrations Highlight how Enterprises can Make the Most of the Cloud Era
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. June 05, 2013 Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKAM), the leading cloud platform for helping enterprises provide secure, high-performing user experiences on any device, anywhere, is showcasing its cloud delivery and optimization expertise at Cloud Expo NY 2013 which will be held at New Yorks Javits Centre, June 10-13, 2013. Through a combination of keynote, general and technical sessions, as well as booth demonstrations (Booth 418) of the companys Terra Alta solutions, Akamai will show attendees how they can maximise the results of their cloud computing strategies.
Terra Alta is a cloud-based application delivery platform designed to improve enterprise agility and collaboration by offering the power to instantly configure and deliver all web-based applications, to any users, anywhere in the world. The solution also can help overcome the inherent challenges related to performance, availability, expansion and security, which cannot be accomplished by deploying specialised hardware within the data centre. Further, Terra Alta is designed to mitigate new application delivery challenges introduced by the rapid migration and movement of applications across cloud computing platforms, the diversity of mobile device types and networks, and the need for real-time aggregation of data sources.
Terra Alta Cloud Balancing Demonstrations
Throughout Cloud Expo NY 2013, Akamai will host live demonstrations showcasing Terra Altas cloud balancing capability, which is useful in situations where outages, network conditions or other circumstances may negatively impact application delivery. The solution can recognise that application delivery is suffering and, in near-real-time, direct requests to those data centers not impacted. Attendees can see this capability firsthand as demonstrations will show how Terra Alta can help overcome the complexity of maintaining application availability when hosting assets within multiple cloud environments - including enterprise data centers - by prioritising from which cloud provider and/or data centre applications should be delivered and helping to ensure all relevant performance optimizations are instantly made available regardless of hosting location.
During the course of the event, Akamai experts will be on hand to discuss strategies and best practices for improving the performance and optimization of enterprise applications delivered via the cloud.

Cloud Acceleration Techniques for Mission-Critical Applications: On Monday, June 10 at 2:50 p.m. ET, Akamais Senior Engagement Manager, Saurabh Mishra, will provide attendees with technical details for how dynamic content can be accelerated with a globally distributed platform and how applications can be instantly supported with minimal effort.
Strategies for Application Delivery in the Cloud Era: On Tuesday, June 11 at 12:45 p.m. ET, Akamais Vice President of Product Marketing, Neil Cohen, will present the Lunchtime Focus Keynote. In this session, Cohen will address how enterprises can overcoming the challenges of cloud computing, and discuss the role application delivery solutions play in optimising public and hybrid cloud architectures without sacrificing performance, security or control.
Cloudy with a Chance of Success: On Wednesday, June 12 at 9:55 a.m. ET, Akamais Product Line Director, Gary Ballabio, will examine a variety of strategies enterprises can employ to make cloud architectures better performing, more secure and consistently available. Ballabio will also cover best practices for achieving the optimal reliability for applications running in the cloud as well as maintaining or increasing the velocity of real-time data transfers that are happening in support of Big Data initiatives.
How to Make the Cloud Safe for Cloud Computing: On Wednesday, June 12 at 5:20 p.m. ET, Akamais Senior Solutions Engineer, Greg Smith, will provide an inside look at how Akamais Intelligent platform can help you address these challenges without sacrificing security or control.
