Cellnex Telecom ha cerrado hoy la primera fase del acuerdo anunciado el pasado mes de julio para la adquisici n de un paquete de 230 torres de telecomunicaciones a Bouygues Telecom en Francia. La inversi n, de 80 millones de euros, le abre las puertas al mercado franc s y consolida su perfil de operador independiente de infraestructuras de telecomunicaciones inal mbricas con cobertura europea.
Cellnex y Bouygues trabajan ya en la segunda fase del acuerdo del mes de julio que contempla una posible ampliaci n hasta 500 torres.
Tob as Mart nez, consejero delegado de Cellnex, ha destacado que se inicia as una colaboraci n a largo plazo que abre la puerta a otros mbitos de inter s como la construcci n de nuevos emplazamientos a demanda (Build to Suit) o el despliegue de nuevas tecnolog as basadas en las small cells para la banda ancha en movilidad. Reforzamos nuestro alcance europeo y con ello la capacidad de construir acuerdos y alianzas con clientes que operan en distintos pa ses europeos a los cuales les podremos ofrecer soluciones de conectividad para las telecomunicaciones .
The agreement with Bouygues Telecom
La primera fase del acuerdo alcanzado con Bouygues Telecom, rubricado hoy, supone la adquisici n e integraci n de 230 emplazamientos de transmisi n inal mbrica de se al de datos y telefon a en movilidad. La operaci n, que representa una inversi n de 80 millones de euros, abre una v a de colaboraci n a largo plazo con uno de los principales operadores de telefon a m vil en Francia. La adquisici n de este portafolio de torres va acompa ada de un contrato de prestaci n de servicios de Cellnex a Bouygues Telecom que se extiende por un periodo de 20 a os.
Las torres mencionadas se distribuyen por todo el territorio franc s, mayoritariamente en zonas rurales y suburbanas, con un peque o porcentaje en zonas urbanas. En una segunda fase, que se prev cerrar antes del pr ximo 31 de diciembre, este paquete inicial de 230 torres puede ampliarse hasta los 500.
Bouygues Telecom es, por cifra de negocio, el tercer operador de telefon a m vil en Francia. Cuenta actualmente con un portafolio de 11.000 emplazamientos de transmisi n. La compa a francesa ha iniciado en los ltimos a os un proceso progresivo de separaci n y venta de sus activos no estrat gicos en infraestructuras, en l nea con la tendencia a la externalizaci n y operaci n de las mismas por parte de operadores neutros e independientes como Cellnex Telecom.
The French market
Francia cuenta con 56.000 de los 330.000 emplazamientos para transmisi n de se al de telecomunicaciones desplegados en Europa Occidental. Algo m s del 20% del total de emplazamientos son gestionados por operadores independientes.
Con una clasificaci n AA de S&P y Fitch, Francia se encuentra en pleno despliegue en el territorio de la banda ancha m vil 4G, alcanzando una cobertura que oscila entre el 60% y algo m s del 75% de la poblaci n seg n el operador. Despliegue, que al igual que en otros pa ses europeos, se est llevando a cabo sobre la base de los emplazamientos ya existentes para el 2G y el 3G.
La mejora de la cobertura y el acceso en movilidad a contenidos de banda ancha en reas con gran n mero de usuarios simult neos constituye uno de los retos de futuro y una prioridad. En este sentido, el despliegue de redes con gran densidad y capilaridad, las small cells y los sistemas distribuidos de antena (DAS en ingl s) ser n algunos de los vectores del crecimiento del mercado franc s en los pr ximos a os.
Cellnex Telecom es el principal operador independiente europeo de infraestructuras de telecomunicaciones inal mbricas, con una cartera total superior a los 16.100 emplazamientos. Cellnex cerr el primer semestre de 2016 con unos ingresos de 338 millones de euros ( 18%) y un EBITDA de 134 millones ( 16,5%). La compa a cuenta con operaciones en Espa a, Italia, Holanda y ahora Francia.
