TMD Delivers Outstanding Workflows For Broadcast And Non-Linear Platforms At NAB 04

NAB 2014, Booth: N3425: TMD, the leading provider of asset management systems for digital and physical assets, will demonstrate the full capabilities of its award-winning Mediaflex platform at NAB this year. Mediaflex is delivering real operational efficiencies for organisations worldwide that create, enrich, store, manage, publish and monetise media content.

The move to multiple delivery platforms means that every player in the media chain has to be more efficient and agile if they are to succeed, said Tony Taylor, chairman and CEO of TMD. Package management is key to the success of digital content publishing, and Mediaflex allows businesses to define and deliver packages to multiple platforms, and build workflows to maximise productivity and minimise operational costs.

At NAB 2014 TMD is announcing new software elements which draw on the power of the cloud, providing software as a service solution. The system architecture includes seamless integration to Amazon S3, encoding.com and other cloud services to provide a flexible approach encompassing private, public and hybrid cloud environments.

One area in which the cloud functionality will be appreciated is in production and post production management. The ability to define and complete projects in a single workflow environment is critical to the future success of creative organisations. For example, a promotional campaign can be tracked and driven from concept, wish list and make list through editing and finishing to publishing on linear and non-linear platforms.

Mediaflex is a modular platform which includes a highly customisable workflow engine. Many broadcasters and other content owners team this with the Mediaflex CI module, which not only provides the ability to design workflows using a simple graphical interface, it also draws on business analytics to derive valuable information and to further automate processes.

As well as broadcast and production environments, TMD has a remarkable reputation in solutions for some of the largest audiovisual archives in the world. These require additional specific functionality, for example to manage physical as well as digital assets. Enhancements to be launched at NAB 2014 include vaults space management, and the ability to graphically browse locations and facilities.
