Thursday, September 1st, 2016 [Ottawa, Ontario, Canada] Ross Video has made two significant Media over IP related announcements leading into IBC 2016. Ross has joined AIMS and will be showing IP interoperation in the IBC Interop Pavilion.
AIMS is the Alliance for IP Media Solutions, an organization supporting the adoption of open standards for production, delivery and distribution of broadcast media over IP networks. AIMS' mission is to eliminate fragmentation and maximize hardware and software interoperability a goal that Ross is in full support of. Ross Video will provide IP connectivity solutions that adopt the common set of open IP broadcast standards, including SMPTE ST2022-6 & ST2110 and VSF TR-03 & TR04.
Ross will be participating in the IBC IP Interop Pavilion having been involved in recent qualifying plug-fest events. At the IBC Interop Pavilion Ross will be demonstrating compatibility with the full suite of: SMPTE ST2059 (PTP Timing), ST2022-6, TR03, TR04, AES67 and NMOS Discovery & Registration.
Ross has been a member of SMPTE and the VSF for years now and we will be at the IBC IP interop pavilion this year, promoted by AIMS, commented David Ross, CEO of Ross Video. With our knowledge of both AIMS supported and ASPEN based standards, we feel Ross is uniquely positioned to work in both worlds and also ultimately create ways to connect the two systems for the benefit of our broad customer base.
Ross will also be participating in the ASPEN community booth showing interop with its Acuity production switcher ASPEN blade, first announced at IBC last year.
