TO ADDRESS NCTC WINTER EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE

JAN. 31, 2018 (Exton, PA)-Mark Dzuban, president and CEO of SCTE ISBE, and Bill Warga, chairman of the SCTE ISBE Board of Directors and vice president of technology for Liberty Global, will be among the opening-day speakers at the National Cable Television Cooperative's Winter Educational Conference on Monday, Feb. 12, in San Antonio, TX. The announcement was made by the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) and its global arm, the International Society of Broadband Experts (ISBE).

Dzuban will address the linkage between advanced training and deployment of new solutions during his introduction of the Technology Expert Insights panel. Moderated by Warga, the panel will feature Cash Hagan, CTO of WOW; JR Walden, Senior Vice President, Technology, for Mediacom; Jason Nealis, Vice President, Operations and Video Engineering, for RCN; and Joe Canavan, COO of Blue Stream.

The panel will discuss how NCTC members are investing in their plant to drive ROI and maintain their business models. Additional topic areas will include current industry trends, technology areas that will be key to keeping up with future consumer demand, and recommendations for future technology investments.

Advanced learning and development methodologies are fundamental to the seamless and successful rollout of products and services, said Dzuban. By arming their workforces with the knowledge and skills to hit the ground running, large and small operators alike can innovate new services more rapidly, maximizing return on their technology investments.

SCTE ISBE's involvement in the Winter Educational Conference is the latest in a series of collaborative activities with NCTC. Last year, the organizations announced a partnership designed to bring the benefits of SCTE ISBE's industry-leading technology training to NCTC member workforces and teamed to present a highly successful Small- to Medium-Sized Operator Experience at SCTE ISBE Cable-Tec Expo 2017.

SCTE ISBE will exhibit CORTEX VirtuLearn at its booth at the Winter Educational Conference.

SCTE ISBE's online courses-wide in variety and thorough in scope-have been designed in partnership with the operator community to enable members of the cable technical workforce to advance their careers, while minimizing impact on day-to-day operations. Courses are designed to prepare workforce members for every aspect of cable technical operations, from legacy technologies to such recent additions as mobility and cybersecurity.
