Sony expands its HDD product line-up with a new premium shock proof model which allows users to record, store and carry 1TB of data safely in tough conditions. Thanks to its protective rubber casing and robust design, whether shooting a video in the rainforest, or conducting environmental research on the top of a mountain, the HD-SP1 offers a reliable way to store and carry your data.
Reliable and Durable
Sony's new external hard drive offers a rubberised durable case that is splash proof (IPX2), dust proof (IP5X), and drop proof. The drive can stand up to a 1.2 metre fall to prevent any damage in extreme environments. The durability of the HD-SP1 makes it easier for files to be saved and stored no matter where you want to use it. Whilst the size of the drive makes it effortless to carry your files with you, ready for wherever and whenever you need them.
Unique Software and Technology Features
Users are guaranteed a fast and safe data transfer on the go with its security and software features. New, unique software Backup Manager 2.0 allows multiple back-up opportunities adding to its reliability with a hybrid backup function. When the drive is connected, complete automatic back-ups mean that forgetting to back up your newest project is no longer an issue. Even when the drive is not connected, the software is compatible with cloud services such as Dropbox and Google Drive allowing files to be temporarily backed up in the cloud, and automatically moved over when the HDD is reconnected. This fully compatible, two-way storage feature ensures maximum storage safety when you really need it.
Other software features include Password Protection Manager to maximise security and Data Transfer Accelerator, which together with the high speed USB 3.0 lets you quickly save and store all your data on to the 1TB capacity drive. USB 3.0 transfers 500MB of data in 7 seconds meaning you won't be held back from your expedition by slow transfers, or missing a photo opportunity because of complicated document storing.
The durability and security features, along with the high speed USB makes the HD-SP1 a quick and easy way to store your files without the worry of losing them. The new HD-SP1 external hard drive is available in royal blue from October 2015.
