German media software house Lesspain Software today announced their public beta program for Kyno (http://kyno.software), a productivity-boosting desktop application for Mac, aimed at filmmakers, video journalists, media agencies and other video professionals.
Kyno combines a number of tools used in common video workflows integrated in a simple user interface. These include a media-aware file browser and a high-performance video-player with features aimed at professional users; a smart conversion engine; an integrated database that allows a user's drives to be browsed and searched like a media asset management system without the need to import; various productivity-enhancing features such as batch renaming, batch export of subclips and still frame and Excel reports for collaboration. Kyno is designed to be flexible and non-intrusive thus fitting into virtually any video workflow.
It also features specific integration with the leading NLEs Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro .
