Today ABC announces the launch of a new Site Tag audit service for its members. Delivered through a commercial partner, Pikslme, who have developed and will operate the technology platform behind the service, the Site Tag audit enables desktop and mobile website owners to track the known analytics tags on their pages and the coverage of these and any other tags within a site.
The service will ensure pages are tagged and hence able to feed data correctly to the web analytics provider chosen by the website. The Pikslme site tag audit reports will identify for media owners the pages that are incorrectly tagged or not tagged at all, resulting in web traffic data being understated.
Other 3rd or 1st party deployed media, marketing or analytics tags, which the media owner may not be aware of, will also be identified by the service. This enables media owners with outsourced advertising or syndicated content to keep track of externally served page elements and prevent data leakage' to third parties.
The application of data collection tags for digital analytics and the development of Data Management Platforms for reporting and advanced ad targeting are two examples where site tagging affects the user experience. Through Pikslme's site tag audit reports, ABC members will be able to identify, at the page level, any unnecessary tags for removal or for optimised management.
ABC members gain access to the Pikslme Site Tag audit service at discounted rates.
