DAARSAT securing pay-TV bouquet revenues with next generation Conax Contego Broadcast content protection solution
CabSat 2013, Dubai, March 13th: Conax, global provider of leading solutions for securing multi-device and digital TV services, announced today that Abuja-based DTH operator DAARSAT, owned by DAAR Communications Plc. has reconfirmed its commitment to security partner Conax and has selected an upgrade to the Conax Contego Broadcast content security solution. Partnering with Conax for content security since 2008, the new solution, complimented by the advisory role and integration provided by Conax, will aid DAARSAT in positioning and securing its DTH and DTT platforms for digital migration. Additionally, the Conax Contego Broadcast solution will enable secure content delivery that supports rich and flexible, interactive on-demand services and viewing options for an enhanced subscriber experience.
The DAARSAT platforms offer five consumer bouquets, ranging from 30 various channels, and include features such as Messaging, Subscriptions, Fingerprinting, and Chipset Pairing. The most secure form of content protection available, Conax Chipset Pairing ensures that smart cards can be used only with secure devices, prevents card sharing by securing the link between the smart card and the client device, and enables secure authorization of several devices in a connected home and preventing illegal content redistribution.
