President of Disney across Europe Jan Koeppen has said the company is committed to spending $1 billion a year over the next five years making TV series and films in the UK and Europe.
The company is expected to spend $5 billion over the next five years on films, Disney+, National Geographic and other TV projects produced in the UK and Europe.

Deadpool & Wolverine, currently top of the global box office, was shot at Pinewood Studios. Another Marvel project, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is currently shooting at the facility.
In an interview with the FT, Koeppen said he views the UK and Europe as an important driver of production for the company.
We are probably one of the fastest-growing media companies in [Europe, the Middle East and Africa], said Koeppen. We have been over the past few years, and . . . we have a lot more growth ahead of us.
Koeppen described European markets such as Spain as centres of talent for production due to tax advantages and infrastructure,
Disney's EMEA business spans over 130 markets across the region commercially and operationally.
