BVE 2018: Argosy adds Barnfind fibre converters to portfolio

Argosy, a leading international supplier of broadcast cables and infrastructure products, has added the BarnMini range of fibre converters from Barnfind Technologies to its inventory. The products will make their Argosy debut at BVE 2018 (Excel London, 27 February - 1 March, stand G43).

The BarnMini range is based on a compact and simple device, which provides very high quality conversion, particularly between fibre and copper cables. The beauty of the range is that additional functionality can be implemented by the use of SFPs: small format pluggable devices. SFPs from any vendor, not just Barnfind, which meet the widely recognised MSA standard can be used in BarnMinis.

The BarnMini is the Swiss army knife of converters - the range allows broadcast and AV system designers to connect more or less anything to anything, said Chris Smeeton, managing director of Argosy. We know that our customers need solutions to convert between SDI, fibre and Cat6 - they are buying all those cables and connectors from us.

The great advantage of the BarnMini range is that they just work, he added. They are plug, play and forget.
