Yaojiang New Town Development Strategy Discued

On June.26th, an expert consulting conference was organized to discuss key issues of the Strategy on the Urban Development of Yaojiang. Zheng Shengxuan, vice-director of Ningbo Planning Bureau, presided over the conference, which also saw the participation of Wang Renzhou, deputy mayor of the Ningbo Municipal Government, Yao Shoupeng, supervisor from the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development stationed in Ningbo, Tang Simin, deputy secretary general of the government and Ruan Zhixian, secretary of the party committee in Ningbo Planning Bureau. Besides, 7 experts from cities like Beijing, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, etc. were also invited to the conference.

In order to soundly implement the spirit represented in the Central Working Conference on Urban Development, hold fast to the philosophy of innovation, coordination, openness and sharing and speed up the development of the western part of Ningbo, our bureau, at the requirement of the city government, commissioned China Academy of Urban Planning and Design and enacted the Strategy on the Urban Development of Yaojiang. The western part of Ningbo was designated as the priority during the future strategic development, whose advancement would help Ningbo improve on urban development and formed a key section of the central urban area. The region was designed to be a brand-new value space and a sub-hub of Ningbo in which a promising prospect lied in. The participants, after dwelling on the planning scheme, fully affirmed the work that had been already done and held discussions revolving around the contents such as regional economy, spatial structure, developmental philosophy, function options and operation channels, coming up with a host of specific suggestions loaded with practicality and foresight.

In the phase following, the Planning Bureau will, based on the reflection of advice from experts, make headway in optimizing the planning scheme and fulfilling the targets set before, hence providing new philosophies and guidelines on regional development.
