Singer-songwriter and actress Buhlebendalo Mda will be closing off Women's Month with an all-female production at the South African State Theatre (SAST) on 28 August. Mda, best known as the frontwomen for the award-winning acapella group The Soil, will share the stage with some of Mzansi's finest voices including Soweto songbird, Theo Songstress.

JAM SESSION WITH BUHLEBENDALO CELEBRATING WOMEN IN MUSIC' Buhlenbendalo Mda is more than just a musician. She is also a philanthropist, gender activist and content creator. The talented singer is also the founder of the Solsista Projects Collective.

To celebrate Women's Month, the all-rounder will pay homage to the women who have contributed to her musical journey. The Jam Session with Buhlebendalo Celebrating Women in Music will create a space for both young and upcoming musicians.

The event will also shine the spotlight on collaboration amongst local creatives.

WHO WILL BE PERFORMING? Award-winning afro-pop singer Zimbini Makwetu, Xakathungaga Khonaye and Soweto-based songbird Theo Songstress will share the stage with Buhlebendalo Mda at Jam Session with Buhlebendalo Celebrating Women in Music at the State Theatre in Pretoria.

Taking to Instagram on 13 July, Mda wrote: I'm sure by now you know that my biggest inspiration is womxn, so [what] better way to close off womxn's month than a jam session with my sisters in music.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW Jam Session with Buhlebendalo Celebrating Women in Music will take place on 28 August at the State Theatre from 15:00.

Tickets are available here from R150 to R350 each.

There will also be a children's programme for some family-friendly fun.
