BACKENTERTAINMENT ONE TAPS DAN GOPAL TO LEAD SALES ACROSS EMEALondon August 23, 2017 Global studio Entertainment One (eOne) has appointed Dan Gopal as Executive Vice President, Sales - EMEA, announced today by Stuart Baxter, President, eOne Television International. In this newly created position reporting to Baxter, the EMEA sales team in London and the other European sales operations will report to Gopal where he will lead all EMEA film and television content sales efforts to broadcasters and OTT platforms for Free TV, Pay TV, SVOD and AVOD. Bringing deep broadcaster relationships to the role, Gopal will focus on multi-local sales efforts for the company's expansive slate.
As the company continues to invest more in content and creative partnerships, we need a bigger and stronger distribution team to drive our commercial growth, commented Baxter. Dan's experience at ITV, Disney and Miramax as well as his relationships across Europe will be invaluable.
Prior to joining eOne, Gopal worked at ITV Studios Global Entertainment where he led the commercial team responsible for all TV, Digital and Home Entertainment sales for the entire ITV Studios portfolio across EMEA; and worked closely with the other regions to manage the relationships and deal making with global digital partners including Netflix and Amazon. Previously, Gopal held a number of commercial and strategy roles over a 10 year period within Media Distribution at The Walt Disney Company; before launching and managing the EMEA distribution business for Miramax after their private equity buy-out from Disney. Gopal is also a founding member of the Childline Board and an honorary member of the NSPCC Council.

With over 500 hours of compelling new content delivered last year, eOne Television's current lineup of original and acquired content now features 42 series and long-form programs commissioned by over 20 different broadcast and cable networks including mega-hit The Walking Dead, companion series Fear the Walking Dead and other major AMC and SundanceTV scripted series through the Company's multi-year distribution agreement with AMC Networks, as well as Designated Survivor from eOne's The Mark Gordon Company; and eOne produced original series ICE, You Me Her and Rogue for DirecTV; the upcoming Sharp Objects, from director Jean-Marc Vall e and starring Amy Adams for HBO; Mary Kills People for Global and Lifetime; Ransom from executive producer Frank Spotnitz for CBS, Global, TF1, RTL; Gap Year for E4 and Hulu; Cardinal starring Billy Campbell for CTV and Hulu; and currently in production on their debut seasons, The Detail starring Shenae Grimes-Beech, Angela Griffin and Joanne Kelly for CTV and ION, and Burden of Proof starring Kristin Kreuk for CBC.
