Coppola bet by EVS DYVI mixer for its most ambitious project Distant Vision brings together for the first time film, television and theatre in a project that will take you five years and which uses technology that provides mixer based on IT DYVI EVS.
Director Francis Ford Coppola believes that "cinema and television have merged completely". On the basis of this principle is immersed in his most ambitious film project. Coppola is using DYVI, customarily used in television environments, to mix the sources from forty cameras that capture live film.

Multiscreen
As it captures each sequence with their entries and preset the mixer sources shown in three MultiView screens in the control room of the UCLA while the next scene up displayed in other multiscreen. These screens Multiviewer are generated internally by the DYVI system.
This multi-screen installation allows to simplify the traditional configuration on television that shows all available cameras at the same time.
On the application of DYVI project, Coppola emphasizes that "the allocation of the multi-screen and dynamic control panel are the two most important elements from the point of view of the director. In the system, the fonts that are displayed can be reorganized dynamically at any time during production. This allows focusing only on the necessary sources at a point in the production and enable a faster direct mix. The way is set up and used DYVI would have been impossible in a conventional Mixer".
"The way that this project uses the DYVI mixer is exactly how we conceive and develop this technology", has secured J rgen Obstfelder, specialist products of EVS and DYVI mixer software designer. "In recent years, the mixer market has focused mainly on adding more entries. The way in which we design DYVI with software you means that you can set for an unlimited number of configurations, or in this case, scenes. Administrators or managers can switch between these scene settings by simply pressing a button", it adds.
"The way in which we were able to configure the DYVI system was different to any analog mixer and gives us the ability to easily produce each sequence of" Distant Vision. The flexibility that gives us DYVI can preconfigure camera of each scene and sources inputs has allowed carry out a production much more efficient and easier to handle", says Teri Rozic.
