David Beckham has played for some of the best football clubs in the world including Manchester United, where he donned the number 7 jersey, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, where he hung up his boots for good. Over the years, Beckham has also been the centre of a few controversies including allegations that he cheated on his wife, former singer Victoria Beckham.

In honour of the former footballer, Netflix is developing a docu-series that focuses on his humble beginnings and his iconic football career.

DAVID BECKHAM'S NETFLIX DOCUMENTARY IS IN THE WORKS According to The Hollywood Reporter, a Netflix docuseries centred around David Beckham was first teased in 2020 and has now officially been confirmed.

It will be produced by the 47-year-old's production company, Studio 99 and will have two Oscar-winning directors behind it.
The upcoming doccie will be helmed by American director and actor Fisher Stevens and John Battsek, best known for his work on Searching for Sugar Man.
WHAT CAN FANS EXPECT? Taking to Instagram on Wednesday 13 July, David Beckham shared that the upcoming documentary will feature unseen archive footage, untold stories as well as interviews with the people who have been a part of his journey.

I'm excited to confirm that I am partnering with Netflix on a documentary series about my life and career wrote Beckham.
As per Channel24, the documentary will reportedly be a multi-part series.

INSPIRED BY MICHAEL JORDAN According to Netflix, David Beckham's upcoming documentary series was inspired by legendary basketball player Michael Jordan's 10-part series, The Last Dance.
Jordan's 2020 series follows the 59-year-old's basketball career with the Chicago Bulls between 1997 and 1998. Thes series features interviews from Jordan himself and his former teammates, Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman.
