London (UK), July 22, 2014 - Sisvel's Wi-Fi program offers a license to essential patents owned by the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), Hera Wireless S.A. and Nokia Corporation.These patent portfolios reflect important contributions to the 802.11 standard and related Wi-Fi Alliance specifications and this joint program represents another advance toward Sisvel's goal of providing simplified access to essential patents on reasonable, and non-discriminatory, or RAND, conditions.
Information about the terms and conditions of Sisvel licenses under these patents, including royalty rates and the types of products covered, is available from Sisvel upon request by companies requiring a license.

IEEE 802.11 is a family of specifications for wireless local area network (WLAN) communications in the bands from 2.4, up to 5 GHz that has continued to evolve since the official publication of the first wireless LAN standard in IEEE Std. 802.11-1997 and many subsequent enhancements.
