Based on the overwhelming response from applicants to Screen Australia's Games Production round in July 2013, the program has been transformed from a deadline-based program to one where applications can be submitted to the agency at any time.
We are now open to receive new applications for funding.
To assist with the assessment of applications, Screen Australia is pleased to announce that Alex Hutchinson (Creative Director at Ubisoft Montreal), Sarah Van Rompaey (founder of Lady Shotgun Games, former Senior Producer on the Tomb Raider franchise), Morgan Jaffit (founder of Defiant Development) and Simon Joslin (co-founder of The Voxel Agents) are engaged as external industry assessors for the program in 2014.
Screen Australia's Games Production funding can be used towards all aspects of game development, including marketing and lifetime content.
Projects may be created for any games platform, and their focus may be commercial (revenue-generating), cultural (issue-raising, educational, artistic) or innovative, as long as they are intended for public release.

ALEX HUTCHINSON
Alex Hutchinson is currently Creative Director at Ubisoft Montreal, working on an unannounced title. He was previously the Creative Director of Assassins Creed 3 and Army of Two: The Fortieth Day, and before that the Lead Designer on Spore and The Sims 2 at Maxis in California. The games he has worked on have sold in excess of 20 million copies and picked up Game of the Year' nominations (and occasionally awards) from various websites and magazines, as well as the odd BAFTA, Writers Guild of America Award, Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences prize and Game Developers Choice (GDC) award. He has written for magazines such as Edge, GamesTM and PC Zone, and is a regular speaker at events such as GDC, D.I.C.E and E3, including giving the design keynote at GDC Europe in 2012. Originally from the wilds of East Brunswick in Melbourne, he currently lives in Montreal with his wife, son, a schnauzer and a daschund.
MORGAN JAFFIT
Morgan Jaffit is the founder of Defiant Development, where he works as a game designer and producer. Morgan has over a decade's experience in games development, cutting his teeth at Irrational Games and Relic. He is a regular speaker on development, both locally and internationally, as well as an award-winning designer and writer. Defiant Developments' published work includes the international hit Ski Safari.
SIMON JOSLIN
Simon began his games development career at Halfbrick Studios, working on Game Boy Advance, PSP and DS titles, and in 2008 founded development company The Voxel Agents with Matthew Clark. Simon drives the creative direction and studio vision at The Voxel Agents. He loves to make games that require considered thought and strategy, but in deceivingly simple and intuitive packages, such as the hit mobile game Train Conductor. He is focused on interactivity and challenge and wants to indoctrinate the mainstream with this new form of entertainment.
SARAH VAN ROMPAEY
With 13 years of games industry experience in both publishing and development, Sarah has worked on every major platform since producing her first PlayStation 2 game for Infogrames Melbourne House. Since moving to the UK she has worked for Eidos and Sony on a number of successful titles, most notably as the Senior Producer of the Tomb Raider and SingStar franchises. Sarah is also co-founder of UK start-up Lady Shotgun and was recently named as one of the UK's top 100 women in games.
