Berklee, Spotify Launch Second EQL Residency for Female-Identifying Producers, Engineers

Spotify and Berklee are partnering for the second year of the EQL Residency, a program that helps open doors for emerging female-identifying producers and engineers.

The program begins in September and will offer paid, six-month residencies in three cities: Los Angeles, Nashville, and London. The residency will include hands-on studio experience, networking opportunities, and ongoing mentorship from female department chairs and leaders at Berklee. Residents will work out of Spotifys Secret Genius Studios, where Spotify has shown its commitment to supporting emerging songwriters and producers.

Last years EQL residents had the opportunity to work with Ivy Queen on a reimagined version of her anthem Yo Quiero Bailar. Recent Berklee alumna Taylor Pollock B.M. 19 was a recipient of the initial residency in Nashville, Tennessee.

After a fantastic inaugural year, we are excited to be a part of the second EQL Residency with Spotify, says Darla Hanley, dean of Berklees Professional Education Division. We look forward to supporting and mentoring the recipients of the EQL Residency in all three cities, and cannot wait to meet them.
