Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards Submiions Open

Online submissions for the Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild 2 Awards (IATSE Local 706) honoring outstanding achievements for make-up artists and hair stylists in motion pictures, television, commercials, and live theater will open October 13, 2015. Voting will also begin for Lifetime Achievement and Artisan Awards. Submissions and voting will be made online at http://www.local706.org/. This years awards gala will take place on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Paramount Studios Theatre. The official announcement came from IATSE Local 706 President Sue Cabral-Ebert.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, November 20, 2015 at 5 PM (PT). The Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild (MUAHS) members will vote to determine the nominations. The 2016 Distinguished Artisan Award will be announced shortly. Honorees for the two Lifetime Achievement Awards honoring one outstanding make-up artist and one outstanding hair stylist will be announced on November 2, 2015.

ABOUT LOCAL 706:

The Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild (IATSE, Local 706) was chartered in November 1937. Today, membership includes over 1,800 artisans in the entertainment industry worldwide. Local 706 members are make-up artists and hair stylists who have created the looks for Hollywoods most memorable characters and stars of stage, screen, television and now the Internet. The wide-ranging domains of these artists include feature films and television, commercials; live network television, all types of theatrical productions and Disneyland Resort.
