Popular actress Pearl Thusi took to social media this week and said she has made peace that Queen Sono will not be renewed for another season on Netflix and said she's grateful for the positive feedback on the show.

It's wild that I've never seen all this amazing feedback on #QueenSono from all over the world I've made peace with it not being renewed but reading this also made me quite sad. But I'm so happy we entertained so many people worldwide.

I've made peace with it not being renewed but reading this also made me quite sad. But I'm so happy we entertained so many people worldwide, she wrote.

The much-talked-about series is centered on Queen Sono (played by Pearl Thusi) , an agent working for a pan-African security service based in Johannesburg. Her job sees her and her colleagues investigating possible links between a terrorist group operating across the continent and an arms company, according to Sunday World.

The series stars South African actors such as Vuyo Dabula, Sechaba Morojele, Chi Mhende, and Mbali Mlotshwa to name a few.

QUEEN SONO' CANCELLED All4Women reports that the wildly successful series that captured the hearts of many in February 2020, initially looked set to return for its sophomore season.

But following a flurry of reports in the media, a Netflix spokesperson confirmed to All4Women that the rumours were true and that the series would not be renewed after all. They said in a brief statement, We've made the difficult decision not to move forward with season two of Queen Sono

We are incredibly proud of the Diprente team for sharing their audacious vision and bringing it to life with Netflix. A huge thank you to our fans across the world for the love shared for our first African Original series.

Netflix is also grateful to the amazing efforts shown by the cast and crew for their stellar efforts in creating this show for our members around the world. We'll continue to work closely with South Africa's creative industry to keep producing more compelling Made-in-South Africa' stories.
