Give Sol more airtime': Kaya 959 breakfast listeners not happy with Dineo Sol is great on radio, but his combination with Dineo is not gonna work': Kaya 959 listeners feel the breakfast pair lacks chemistry.

In June, Kaya 959 announced that former Metro FM radio presenter Dineo Ranaka and former 5FM radio host Sol Phenduka had joined the station. This came after Thomas Msengana and Skhumba Hlophe, who were the breakfast hosts, were moved the graveyard slot.

And now, over a month into Dineo and Sol's breakfast slot and viewers are not happy with the pairing.

LISTENERS WANT TO HEAR LESS DINEO & MORE SOL PHENDUKA In a statement released by the station when Dineo and Sol took over from Thomas and Skhumbu, the move was in line with the continuous repositioning the station has embarked on since 2021.

Dineo is widely acknowledged for her mastery of the craft of radio. Her radio savvy, dynamic personality and life experience coupled with Sol's sharp wit and broad knowledge are just the combinations Kaya 959 needs to make a mark with the Code-Switcher who is on a journey to advance themselves, part of the statement read.

According to listeners of Kaya 959, however, Dineo does not give Sol a chance to speak.

But honestly you can't even listen to Sol bc Dineo talks a lot, when they had Somizi, he was even trying to address Sol but Dineo would jump right in, it's just so uncomfortable to listen to, she needs to relax a bit, one listener wrote.

Dineo trending is not us bashing her or fighting her it's just simple GIVE SOL PHENDUKA MORE AIRTIME that's it no hate on her she's a great Broadcaster but just give Sol a chance to speak to voice out without her taking the sport light, another listener expressed.

OTHERS WANT THOMAS AND SKHUMBA BACK This is not the first time that listeners have expressed their unhappiness with the Dineo and Sol pairing.

Since Thomas and Skhumba were reshuffled to host their late-night show called Last Call from 22:00 - 00:00 on weekdays, they trend almost every day. For some listeners, the pair had the right amount of energy to wake them up in the morning.

Kaya FM did us dirty by removing Thomas and Skhumba in the morning. I mean Sol is a good vibe but Dineo is not as energised for this, one listener wrote in early July.

While another tweep recently wrote: To be honest with you I miss Thomas and Skhumba .
