Wonderful performances for Spring Festival holiday

On the third day of new year, the first show of "Natural Stage for Spring Festival Celebration" was held at the Zhongshan Square. Nearly 10,000 people enjoyed the "feast" of the public cultural service by watching the Yong opera of "Lu Yacheng and His Wife". It is reported that during the Spring Festival holiday, many cultural facilities will open to the public for free, so that the citizens can enjoy a holiday with strong cultural flavor.

The "Lu Yacheng and His Wife", performed by Ningbo Yong Opera Group Co. Ltd., is this years opening show of the Natural Stage. According to Yu Jie, Deputy Director of the group, more than 30 cast and crew abandoned their reunion with their families for the welfare of the general public. With nine carts of lighting equipments, the staff spent two days setting up the stage. To offer the best performance to the citizens, they even hired a band for live accompaniment.

The classical opera, which lasted for two and a half hours, attracted nearly 10,000 citizens. Some even came to watch the rehearsal. The audience included not only local people, but also migrant workers and even tourists. On such a sunny day, they gathered together to enjoy the opera with strong Ningbo characteristics. A Mr. Geng from Guizhou Province, who stayed in Ningbo on duty during the holiday, came to the show after hearing of the performance.

It is said that in the following days, there will be shows of other Yong operas and special shows of Yue Opera, including the famous "Sister Xianglin" on the natural stage. In the meanwhile, the "day show" of the natural stage will be held at Yifu Opera House from February 4, offering the citizens such shows as the Yuyao Opera of "Champion and Begger". The "Spring for Love" new year concert will be held at Ningbo Music Hall on February 5. Such cultural facilities as Ningbo Museum, Ningbo Library, Ningbo Cultural Hall, Baoguo Temple Ancient Architecture Museum and Qingan Guild Hall will be open to the citizens during the holiday, and various cultural activities with strong local characteristics will be launched.
