Music Libraries rive online in SA

The production music game has changed plenty since Mama Dance released their first production music album in 2002. An explosion of new media, radical improvements in music quality together with innovative search and distribution technology have made the sector an exciting one to play in.

Back in 2002 when library albums were still released on individual CDs, this genre of readymade music for picture was commonly called Mood Music and it didn't get much respect from Ad agency creative's and TV directors! It was often referred to as elevator music or stock music. Eina!

But this perception has changed dramatically as the quality of production music tracks is now indistinguishable from commercially released music. Hans Zimmer, David Arnold and Quincy Jones and many other well known artists create music for production music libraries.

With the endless growth of media offerings, and everyone and their dog now uploading streamed content, the demand for affordable and easily accessible music has never been higher.
