RTS Ireland invites entries for its annual Gradaim RTS / RTS Ireland Awards

Royal Television Society Ireland is inviting submissions from Irish programme makers to celebrate excellence and achievement in the Irish television industry in 2022.

The RTS Ireland Television Awards recognise excellence in Irish Television production and in Irish international co-productions which were broadcast or streamed on Irish broadcast platforms during 2022. The awards are supported by Irish Broadcasters (TG4, RT , Virgin Media Television, & Sky Ireland) and by Screen Ireland and BAI. TG4 will host the awards in 2023 and the ceremony will take place in the Galmont Hotel Galway on Tuesday 28th March 2023.

The RTS Ireland Television Awards currently in its third year will recognise creative excellence and achievement in the following categories:

Drama

Entertainment

Factual Series

Factual Single

Sports

News & Current Affairs

Animation

Specialist Factual

Children's Programming

Factual Entertainment

The RTS Programme Awards are among the international gold standard awards for the TV industry and represent an important showcase for the extraordinary talent evident across the television industry both in the UK and in Ireland.

TG4's Director of Marketing, Development and Partnerships and Chair of RTS Ireland 2023, L s N Dh laigh said: TG4 looks forward to hosting the awards in Galway on March 28th. Gradaim RTS is an opportunity to showcase and celebrate the best of Irish television production and hosting the awards in Galway reflects the strong screen industry in the West of Ireland.

About the RTS Ireland Awards:

Originally founded in London as the Television Society in 1927, the Irish centre was launched in 1995.

The Gradaim/RTS Ireland Television Awards seek to recognise Irish productions and international co-productions which are considered by peer jury members to have made a positive contribution worthy of acclaim by the industry and Irish viewers.

RTS Awards are one of the international gold standard awards for the TV industry and an important showcase of the extraordinary talent evident across the country's television industry.
