SAN JOSE, Calif. - July 19, 2018 - Adobe (Nasdaq:ADBE) and Temple University have reached an agreement for campus-wide access to Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe CC). The licensing agreement allows every Temple University student, faculty member and employee with a registered university email address to log in and use Adobe CC. This includes access to Adobe CC favorites such as Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC, InDesign CC and Adobe XD CC.
Students at Temple University's Tyler School of Art are using Adobe XD in their interactive design classes, creating persuasive and compelling digital experiences to communicate information and ideas through visual language. Students can use Adobe XD to easily design and prototype their website and app projects in a tightly integrated workflow with other top tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator, making Temple the premier higher education institution for access to cutting-edge educational tools.
The decision by Temple University to invest in Adobe CC is part of an ongoing trend of a number of higher education institutes offering their students, faculty and staff access to tools and services that increase digital literacy and help them transition from content consumers into content creators. Recently, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Penn State University, Clemson University, University of Miami, Colorado Mesa University, University of Arizona and Webster University have all deployed Adobe CC's full suite of products across their campuses, as they recognize the growing importance of teaching students to communicate digitally via different channels, platforms and forums, regardless of their major or concentration of study.
The 2017 Digital Literacy Impact Study from NMC showed that graduates without digital literacy skills are putting themselves at a disadvantage in the employment market. A majority (69.6 percent) of postgraduates spoken to for the study felt that considering themselves digital literate made them prepared for employment and comfortable in their jobs.
Working with Adobe XD gives students an opportunity to practice project management, agile development and the collaborative skills essential to business, says Cindy Leavitt, vice president and CIO, Temple University. Enabling them to create digitally compelling work utilizing video, audio, imagery and more on all of their desktop, labs and mobile devices.
