Netflix Announces Swedish Period Drama About The Von Fersens Starring Alva Bratt and Christian Fandango

Today, Netflix announced The Von Fersens, a new romantic drama film set against the backdrop of 18th-century Stockholm, Sweden - following the glamorous and tumultuous lives of historical figures Sophie and Axel von Fersen. Born into one of the most influential and noble families, the siblings quickly became the ultimate it-duo of their time. When their status is stripped away, they fight to protect their family's future - and discover that love might be the key to saving it.

Alva Bratt (Barracuda Queens, The Dance Club) and Christian Fandango (A Nearly Normal Family) have been cast to play the leading roles as the von Fersen siblings. Additional cast features Alexander Abdallah as King Gustav III, August Wittgenstein, Alex Jubell and Sara Shirpey as well as Jonas Karlsson, Lina Englund and Carl Heine Granat who are part of the von Fersen family.

The Von Fersens is based on an original idea by scriptwriters Tove Forsman, Sofie Forsman and Gustav Tegby, with Amanda Adolfsson directing. The film is produced by Frida Bargo for Breakable Films.

The production for the film has just started in Sweden.

Synopsis: The Von Fersens is a grand, modern, fast-paced, and romantic drama film. Siblings Axel and Sophie grew up as the ultimate it-duo of the 18th century, the influencers of their time - but suddenly, the family is canceled by King Gustav III.
