The Chinese Textile and Garment Trade Expo was held in Paris from September 14 to 17, and Ningbo Municipal Council for the Promotion of International Trade organized over 30 fashion enterprises to attend the expo.
Overseas exhibition plays an indispensable role in exploring markets, expanding experts, acquiring technological information and publicizing and improving city image, and has become an important means for middle, small and micro enterprises in Ningbo to enter the international market.
In recent years, Ningbo Municipal Council for the Promotion of International Trade has attached great importance to the exploration of the emerging markets and organized market surveys on markets in India, Brazil, Middle and Eastern Europe, Russia, Africa and Middle and South America, in the hope of realizing the diversified development of the export markets. Ningbo trade delegation will take part in the 2015 Central Asian Home Brand Fair held in Kazakhstan from November 25 to 27. As is reported, the fair is the largest and only home products and crafts exhibition with international influence to be held in Kazakhstan. So far, the council has organized 22 enterprises to attend the expo with over 50 booths.
The participation of the expo is part of Ningbos strategy for developing Central Asian market. Kazakhstan, the largest inland country in the world, with a population of 17 million people, is a second largest consumption market only next to Russia among CIS countries. "This is a market we have been exploring in the past few years. We started cooperation with professional agencies in 2015 to promote the investment and trade with Central Asian countries by means of exhibitions and forums." said Li Jianhua, Deputy Chairman of the council. As most of the imports of Kazakhstan are shipped by rail, Ningbo now has ideal conditions for exporting to Kazakhstan with the development of the sea-rail transportation system.
Other factors should also be reckoned with in the exploration of the emerging markets, such as the local political situation, industrial structure, consumption demands and Chinas national strategy. The central and eastern European countries, mostly along the "one belt, one road" strategy, will be the major markets for future exploration. In September 2016, the municipal council will organize enterprises to attend the international trade fair to be held in Slovenia. And in the future, Ningbo trade delegations will go to the trade activities or fairs in such countries as Czech and Poland.
It is much more difficult to explore the emerging markets than to develop the traditional markets. To address the problems, the commerce commissions and fianc bureaus should provide subsidies to guide and encourage enterprises to explore the new markets. By competing with prominent international brands, Ningbo enterprises will promote their high-end development, cultivate more international brands and help to improve Ningbos international reputation in the business world.
