CMS Transport Systems Expands Partnership with Progress Provider of transportation management system built on Progress OpenEdge expands services to help customers better protect and manage their data
BEDFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Progress (NASDAQ: PRGS), the leading provider of application development and deployment technologies, today announced that CMS Transport Systems, a transport management system provider with more than 30 years experience, is expanding its relationship with Progress, providing its customers with a white labeled professional services offering.
Progress OpenEdge platform has enabled us to build our business to where it is today. Through our new services offering provided by Progress, we are now able to grow our business beyond our core technology, said Grant Walmsley, General Manager, CMS Transport Systems. Built on Progress OpenEdge platform, CMS Transport Systems flagship product, Freight 2020, is a fully integrated transport management system (TMS). It provides users with a suite of solutions, enabling them to optimize and align a variety of specific business functions including operations management, financial accounting, fleet maintenance, workforce management and more. The system is designed to give management a clear view of whats happening across operations at any given moment.
Within the transportation and logistics space, the distribution of information and the real-time flow of requests for freight processing is a requirement. To help customers better manage processes and protect their data, CMS Transport Systems turned to Progress to create a white labeled service offering. Through this offering, CMS Transport Systems can deliver OpenEdge services such as Managed Database Administration (MDBA) to their customers.
CMS Transport Systems customers are seeing immediate value in the offering. We had been infected by a crypto virus that corrupted our auxiliary data, said Leigh Cripps, General Manager of Finance and IT, SRT Logistics. To address future issues, we partnered with CMS and Progress to implement OpenEdge Replication Plus, providing near real-time, continuous data duplication to ensure uptime of our databases and applications. Now, with the infrastructure that we have in place, we firmly believe that weve covered as much as possible and we can protect the integrity of our customers stock.
