Media Prima Berhad (Media Prima), a company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia and one of Malaysia's top 100 largest listed companies by revenue, is Malaysia's leading fully-integrated media group with its core business in television and radio. It has acquired the Stage Tec Crescendo as its main broadcast console in its newly renovated facility in Glenmarie, Shah Alam.
The Prima Berhad media group includes various local free-to-air TV stations such as TV3, NTV7, 8TV and TV9. In line with the expansion and transition to HD broadcast and surround sound production over various platforms such as terrestrial, IPTV and digital media, the acquisition of a reliable professional broadcast mixer that is able to deliver high quality audio becomes a necessity, states Media Prima's Head of Audio Engineering, Mr Mohd Jamli. We have tested Crescendo and its bigger brother Aurus on various productions including the music competitions Mentor and Anugerah Juara Lagu, and were satisfied with the console's level of quality, flexibility and reliability, he added.
The Crescendo by Stage Tec, a member of the Salzbrenner Stagetec Mediagroup, will be installed in the main studio of the newly refurbished Glenmarie facility connecting seamlessly with the existing equipment via an integrated networking system. In combination with the Nexus routing system, which provides a high-grade microphone preamp with 158dB dynamic range as well as individual mic control on all integrated mixers for monitoring and Front of House, the installation meets every requirement. All connection and audio distribution is via proprietary fibre-optics, delivering up to 256 Audio/Control Channels and Dante AoIP networked to FOH and Foldback digital audio mixers on the studio floor. This provides a clean installation that is easy to manage, troubleshoot and recover from any possible point of failure.
According to Senior Audio Director of operation Mr Azrin, the acquisition of the new Stage Tec Crescendo marks a new beginning of Media Prima's commitment of delivering broadcast quality 5.1 surround sound to their customer, in-line with the expected transition to a nationwide DTTB service soon.

The new facility will begin using Stage Tec's Crescendo in various in-house productions, delivering HD quality video and 5.1 surround sound in line with Malaysia's digitalization exercise this year.
