Amazon has confirmed that Pierre Moossa will serve as lead game director for Prime Video's production of Thursday Night Football, which debuts under a new exclusive-rights agreement this fall.

Moossa is a veteran of NBC Sports, having recently served as director of NBC's Super Bowl LVI pregame show in February and as director of NBC Olympics' coverage of gymnastics at the 2020 Tokyo Games last summer.

The multiple Emmy Award winner is also coordinating producer for NBC Sports Group's Premier League coverage and plays a key role in overseeing NBC's coverage of the Tour De France. He previously served as lead game director for Notre Dame Football and as director of Football Night in America.

Moossa will sit at the front bench alongside producer Fred Gaudelli, the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Famer who left the NBC Sunday Night Football truck in March to take over as executive producer of Thursday Night Football.

The upcoming NFL season will mark the first that Prime Video is the exclusive home of Thursday Night Football. Amazon has streamed the show in the past but always in line with a broadcast linear-television partner, most recently Fox. The new season of Thursday Night Football debuts in Week 2 of the NFL season when the Los Angeles Chargers visit the Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 15 (8:20 p.m. ET).

Prime Video is the first streaming service to exclusively distribute a season-long national-broadcast package of NFL games. The 11-year deal covers 15 regular-season games. Prime Video will also produce pre/postgame and halftime shows. The rights agreement also grants exclusive rights to one preseason game per year. According to the official NFL schedule, that game this season will be the San Francisco 49ers at Houston Texans on Aug. 25 (8:15 p.m.).

It was announced earlier this year that Al Michaels will leave NBC Sunday Night Football to serve as lead play-by-play voice on Amazon's TNF package. He will be joined by ESPN college-football analyst Kirk Herbstreit.

Last week, Amazon announced that reporter Kaylee Hartung will be sideline reporter during Thursday Night Football games. In addition, former players Andrew Whitworth and Aqib Talib will serve as contributors to Prime Video's wraparound coverage (pre/postgame and halftime segments). Already a part of the Prime Video TNF team are host Charissa Thompson and analysts Tony Gonzalez, Richard Sherman, and Ryan Fitzpatrick.
