Thomson Video Networks to Participate in Standardization Panel at TV Connect 2014 London Show
RENNES, France - Feb. 19, 2014 - At the upcoming TV Connect London show, Patrick Gendron, technology officer at Thomson Video Networks, will participate in a panel discussion titled What Can Standardization Organizations Do to Make Implementation Faster? The session is scheduled for Tuesday, March 18, at 5:30 p.m. in conjunction with the TV Connect London conference at the Olympia.
The panel discussion will address key questions and topics of interest to connected TV service providers, including whether alliances and consortiums will be able to streamline the industry, whether there should be a common strategy for the future, how to manage the multitude of new standards in the market, and an overview of the commercial drivers to reduce this market fragmentation.
One solution that is already playing a pivotal role in the development of leading-edge connected TV services is Thomson Video Networks' ViBE VS7000, an award-winning H.264/HEVC solution for multi-screen and OTT delivery. The VS7000 is an anything in, anything out encoding/transcoding platform that combines simplicity, reliability, scalability, and flexibility. Facilitated by Thomson Video Networks' exclusive MediaFlex video operating system, the ViBE VS7000 is one of the first worldwide implementations of HEVC, and it is designed to lower operators' OPEX for delivery of a wide range of convergent TV services including WebTV and OTT, as well as traditional IPTV and cable applications.
Thomson Video Networks will be present at TV Connect London, and the company will welcome customers and partners in meeting room 20 of the Olympia.
More information about TV Connect London, scheduled for March 18-20, is available at www.tvconnectevent.com.
