RT at the heart of Culture Night 05

RT at the heart of Culture Night 2015 RT is set to make a bigger contribution than ever to this year's Culture Night event. Now in its tenth year, Culture Night comprises hundreds of events across Ireland and overseas as arts and cultural organisations open their doors until late with hundreds of free events, tours, talks & performances. Culture Night takes place this year on Friday September 18.

Once again RT Supporting the Arts, which supports over 100 arts events annually, is a key supporter of Culture Night.

RT events on the night include:

RT Radio 1's Arena will present an outdoor broadcast live from the Ark stage in Meeting House Square, Temple Bar. From 7pm, this specially extended three hour show will see a packed cultural programme featuring a mix of interviews, music, poetry, drama and comedy with musical accompaniment from the RT Concert Orchestra.

RT Philharmonic Choir and the Army No. 1 Band will come together for a performance in Trinity College, Dublin, plus children's choir, RT C r na n g will perform two mini-concerts on Grafton Street and the National Concert Hall.

The RT National Symphony Orchestra will be offering 100 free tickets in advance for its Friday night concert with baritone Benjamin Appl and conductor Alan Buribayev.

TwoTube on RT 2 will offer its own unique look at Culture Night, with live highlights and previews of events particular to teenagers on the evening from 5.30pm 7pm.

RT News will be reporting live from the diverse array of cultural celebrations and pop-up performances right around the country.
