4 New Year's resolutions to develop creative confidence in students

Give them a choice

This 5th grader picked a project from Karen Corsell's Choice Menu to explain the Revolutionary War. Using only a whiteboard, a pen and a sense of humor, we're loving her creatively confident RSA animation-style video!

Let students do the teaching

Role reversal is a great way to inspire your students to become ambassadors for positive change in the world. Check out how these students created their own kindness PSA in 10 ways to show compassion.

Remove fear of failure

Students (ahem everyone) can be anxious about learning a new skill. According to the Swede project, making a purposefully terrible video while learning the ins and outs of video editing removes the pressure to create something perfect. Turns out, making something bad on purpose is actually really fun!

App smash!

App smashing is a great way to flex creative muscles. For example, how cool is this tutorial that combines Google Earth with WeVideo's screencasting and green screen features? How do you smash apps to create awesome videos? Show us!

How are your students using their voice to activate change in the world?

WeVideo is the official video creation platform sponsor of the Global Student Voice Film Festival, and we think it's a great opportunity for students to work collaboratively on a video project that has the express goal of empowering students to find their voice.

The submission deadline is 2/18/19, so start brainstorming now. Finalists get to go to ISTE in June!
