Davies Veterinary Specialists Upgrade X-Ray Rooms

One of the largest veterinary referral hospitals in Europe has continued its relationship with Fujifilm with two FDR Retrofit room upgrades. Davies Veterinary Specialists was founded in 1998 and employs over 125 people at their extensive premises in the beautiful Bedfordshire countryside where they care for over 9,000 patients a year.

At Davies Veterinary Specialists we offer a diverse range of disciplines and services said Julie Riches-Tomei, RVN and Radiography Supervisor. These include cardiology, dermatology, internal medicine, neurology and neurosurgery, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, physiotherapy, and soft tissue surgery. With such a wide range of specialties our radiology department is vital to our patients and staff.

The hospital had been using Fujifilm's first-generation tethered D-EVO detectors on a 5 year managed service contract.

We have been very happy with Fujifilm so when our managed service contract ended we were keen to find out what our upgrade options were said Julie. Our new D-EVO II detectors have extra features which have improved our workflow, including the fact that they are wireless and very lightweight. We have seen a significant improvement in image detail, and our radiology staff find the Console Advance software is intuitive and easy to use. The Fujifilm Applications Specialist has worked very closely with us to optimise imaging for each body part and patient type.
