Filmmakers, the Final Deadline is October 12 for a chance at the $10,000 Grand Jury Prize, during the Boulder International Film Festival (Feb 28-March 3) in Boulder, Colorado. The festival has developed international recognition as a showcase for the best new films by today's most important filmmakers, stars and critics. Countless opportunities for widespread exposure, superb hospitality, and plenty of interaction with major league industry reps and A-list filmmakers, make BIFF one of the most celebrated festivals on the circuit.

There are two new monetary awards for BIFF 2019: The $10,000 Grand Jury Prize: Best Feature Length Film (Narrative or Documentary) and the $3,000 Grand Jury Prize: Best Short Film (Documentary, Narrative, or Animated Short). This significant and generous gift was given to BIFF by Patti Bruck and Bill Spencer through The William H. Donner Foundation.

BIFF Receives SCFD and Colorado Creates Grants!
The Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) is metro Denver's unique commitment to its arts, cultural and scientific organization. BIFF Looking for Volunteer Staff!
This is your opportunity to become a major part of BIFF. We currently have volunteer opportunities in the several areas:
Program Distribution Manager
The BIFF program book is the most comprehensive guide to the Festival available. Its also the principal signal to the community that the Festival is Coming Soon! The volunteer in this position will help manage a large group volunteers that distribute our program books along the Front Range.
Merchandise Department Manager
This person is responsible for planning and organization of BIFF merchandise sales and stations during the Festival. Our merch manager helps determine quantities and sizes for t-shirt and hats, works with our graphic designer on specifications, and with the help of volunteers, sets up and organizes the merch sales points at BIFF.

Chautauqua Announces Documentary Series Lineup!
Films include BIFF favorites The Human Element and California Typewriter
Gather your friends and family and enjoy an intimate movie night and discover new ideas and cultures at the Chautauqua Community House, followed by a post-screening discussion. This year's series kicks off with the life story of legendary climber Fred Beckey and continues through April with a look at the changing landscapes and shifting values of rural America, as seen through the mind's eye of Wendell Berry. The cozy atmosphere of the 125-seat historic Chautauqua Community House provides the perfect setting to enjoy a film.

The Flatirons Food Film Festival is October 11-14
The Flatirons Food Film Festival wants you to feast on reel food. The HUMANITAS Prize is thrilled to invite you to apply for their newly-expanded HUMANITAS INDEPENDENT FEATURE FILM AWARD. The winner will receive a $10,000 cash prize at the 44th annual HUMANITAS PRIZE Awards in Los Angeles, CA in February, 2019.
For the past decade, HUMANITAS partnered exclusively with the Sundance Film Festival. They are now opening up submissions to all independent film festivals.
