With equal parts humor, heart, and raunchiness, Love & Air Sex is not your typical romantic comedy. Filmmaker Bryan Poyser injects new life into the tried and true conventions of the genre to make something genuinely fresh and exciting.After hearing that his ex-girlfriend Cathy (Ashley Bell) is headed to Austin for a girl's weekend, Stan (Michael Stahl-David) books a last minute trip from NYC to force a chance meeting. Much to his surprise, their best friends Jeff (Zach Cregger) and Kara (Sara Paxton) are smack dab in the middle of their own crazy breakup. With Austin's Air Sex World Championships in full swing, Sam and his friends struggle to keep their sanity intact as they embark on the craziest weekend of their lives.
If you're a New Yorker, you're in luck! Love & Air Sex opens this Friday, February 7 at Cinema Village. After the 7PM show, there will be a Q&A with stars Zach Cregger, Sara Paxton, director Bryan Poyser and producers Megan Gilbride and Trace Sheehan. Star Ashley Bell will then join the crew to introduce the 9:15PM.
After the movie, you're invited to join the cast and crew at Drom (85 Avenue A) for the Air Sex World Championships (tickets can be purchased here). If you've never heard of Air Sex, think of it as Air Guitar meets karaoke meets mime meets perversion. Contestants get on stage and act out a wild sexual scenario to a song of their choosing, solo and (typically) completely clothed. Needless to say, it's a rocking good time!
