
Back to work with fresh ambition and resolute diet plans, the first Monday of the 2016 had us taking stock of the year gone by. With so many fantastic projects under our belt, we got our Production team to give a collective run down of their favourite work.
Kicking off the list with a couple of great spots for charity are National Trusts #LoveTheCoast campaign and Macmillan Cancer Research.
Directed by Thomas Bryant, the stunning ad for #LoveTheCoast featured Britons enjoying the many scenic coastlines in the UK to promote holidaying at home. The campaign took off with the curated spoken verse from notable punk-poet John Cooper Clarke featured in the ad, inviting everyone to collaborate on the final verse with their own ode to the coast.
The poignant campaign for Macmillan Cancer Research with Mist and Blizzard by VCCP had two incredibly emotive films highlighting the vulnerability and loneliness felt in cancer suffers. Director Jaron Albertin shot both films in breathtaking and dramatically stark locations to highlight the sense of isolation, which had a hugely effective response.
Out of all the music video promos in the year, our favourites were each challenges in themselves for deadlines, complex shots and dynamic grades but we all collectively loved these videos and still arent bored of hearing the tracks!
Royal Blood Out Of The Black is still picking up accolades for the dynamic marriage of live action and mind-blowing animation from directors David Wilson and Christy Karacas. Creatively exciting to work on, it saw our Colourist Julien Biard winning his first Kinsale Shark for his grade, an immensely proud moment for us all.
Naughty Boy Runnin featuring B yonce and Arrow Benjamin set underwater created a beautifully shot film using the incredible skill of expert freedivers to get the amazing underwater running shots. A must-see for the stunning grade by Paul Harrison.
Without a doubt two of the most fun campaigns we worked on this year both came from Warburtons and the brilliant campaigns by creative agency WCRS and directed by Declan Lowney of Another Film Company.
Sylvester Stallone got serious to bring the bread out of Bolton with The Deliverers -taking baking in his stride and poking fun at his film history. Then launching with the ever-favourable Muppets just before Christmas with the Giant Crumpet Show supersizing Britains favourite breakfast bread and rekindling the nations love for those eccentric characters. A brilliant collaboration for British family bakery Warburtons with long-time creature favourites the Muppets. Catchy theme tune too!
And for the final favourite commercial of the year, in a labour of love and serious satisfaction to share with everyone, is the photoreal CGI talking dog we crafted for Beagle Street Life Insurance Trousers which launched on 1st January 2016.
Talk about ending the year on a high!
