Ningbo consumes 600 million yuan during National Day holiday

During the National Day holiday this year, the consumer market of Ningbo boasts a total consumption volume of 605 million yuan, up by 8.85% over the same period of last year. Among others, the major business complexes have become the first choice for the citizens.

With such business patterns as retailers, catering and recreation, the business complexes have demonstrated strong consumption advantages. During the holiday, the four business plazas under supervision realized a total sales volume of 166.3703 million yuan, up by a staggering 26.42%, with the sales volumes for the Wanda Plaza in Yinzhou District, the Outlets and the Wanda Plaza in Jiangbei District reaching 88.2 million yuan, 42.16 million yuan and 23.68 million yuan respectively, up by 31.84%, 35% and 50.5% respectively. While that for the Raffles Plaza stood at 12.32 million yuan, down by 30.5%.

As the major force for the rigid demand and their great convenience, the supermarkets maintained a stable sales volume. The eight supermarkets under monitoring realized a total sales volume of 225.3956 million yuan, up by 8.67%.

However, due to the competition from the convenient online shopping and from the peer businesses, the department stores witnessed slack sales. During the holiday, despite the growth of visitor flowrate caused by a variety of promotion activities, the sales volume decreased. The six major department stores under monitoring realized a total sales volume of 147.0196 million yuan, down by 5.6% over the same period of last year, with five of them witnessing sales decline.

During the holiday, the eight restaurants under monitoring achieved a total catering business volume of 12.9806 million yuan. The wedding dinners and family dinners became the main force. The number of wedding dinners increased with higher standards. The high-end catering sector attracted more new couples, contributing a lot to the sales increase of the large-scale catering enterprises.

Statistics also show that the movie market is not very active. The box office of the three monitored cinemas stood at 1.4406 million yuan, down by 34.84 over the same period of last year. In addition, thanks to the good weather, a lot of people chose to go outdoors. The usually popular KTVs also witnessed decrease of business volume. The business volume of the two KTVs monitored stood at 256,300 yuan, down by 13.2%.

Meanwhile, with the spread of the holiday tourism concept among people, the businesses at the scenic spots saw the increase of the leisure consumption. Take the Old Bund area. The four monitored bars realized a total business volume of 528,700 yuan, up by 36.4% over the same period of last year. The turnover of the three featured business streets under monitoring reached 9.29 million yuan, up by 4.03%. Besides, such interactive consuming activities as reading, physical exercises, farm tours and family recreation tours have made the bookstores, gyms and family amusement parks the most popular venues among the citizens.
