Anders Olsson appointed COO in TeliaSonera

Anders Olsson has been appointed Chief Operating Officer and Head of Global Services & Operations in TeliaSonera and member of the TeliaSonera Group Executive Management team. Anders Olsson has a long career at Tele2, most recently as Executive Vice President Strategic Projects.

I am very pleased that we have been able to attract Anders to join TeliaSonera. He has a long career in a successful company and his leadership and experience will be very valuable in the next phase of shaping of TeliaSonera, says Johan Dennelind, President and CEO of TeliaSonera.

As announced in October 2015, TeliaSonera has combined Group Technology and Group Commercial into a Global Services & Operations (GSO) unit which is operational since January 1, 2016. The new unit will play an important role in the new TeliaSonera, combining commercial excellence and technology leadership. Among other things GSO will be responsible for creating new businesses, exploring potential revenue streams and long term investment opportunities. In doing so it will work closely with the country operations within the TeliaSonera Group to make sure that services, networks and architecture are future proof, secure and add value. TeliaSonera International Carrier (TSIC) is part of the new unit.

Anders Olsson has had a long and successful career at Tele2, where he started as a management trainee in 1997. Since then he has been Marketing Director of Tele 2 in Italy, CEO of Tele2 in Germany, Market Area Director in Central Europe and Benelux to name but a few positions. Recently, he has been responsible for overall sales, marketing, international carrier, product management and customer operations and support in the Tele2 Group. He was appointed Executive Vice President Strategic Projects in the latest re-organization.

Anders Olsson will assume his position in TeliaSonera on July 8th at latest.
