Actors Menzi Biyela and Nompilo Maphumulo, who play an engaged couple Nosipho Xulu and Pastor Sambulo Gwala have allegedly been written out of Uzalo.

ACTORS CONTRACTS NOT RENEWED' Sources from the SABC1 soapie Uzalo informed Daily Sun that fan-favourite couple Pastor Gwala and Nosipho Xulu played by actors Nompilo Maphumulo and Menzi Biyela were shown the door.

The situation is tense as some actors don't know whether their contracts will be renewed or not, but Nosipho and Pastor Gwala are leaving. The were told their contracts will not be renewed.

Another source from the production revealed that actors from the SABC1 soapie were living in fear.

Nompilo is talented. She's been with Uzalo since season one and delivered the best. When colleagues heard she was leaving, everyone was shocked. Menzi is experienced and talented. His contract not being renewed was scary for others.

Nompilo Maphumulo did not comment to The South African at the time of publishing this article, while Biyela referred Daily Sun to Stained Glass TV production for comment.

MORE ACTORS EXIT UZALO' Biyela and Maphumulo's departures come a few days after actress Omuhle Gela, who plays Nomaswazi Magwaza announced on her social media account that she left the soapie with immediate effect due to disagreements over her contract.

Stained Glass confirmed her exit in a statement with TshisaLIVE and wished her the best in her future endeavours:

Omuhle Gela, who portrays the role of Nomaswazi Magwaza will no longer be part of SABC 1's hit show Uzalo due to not agreeing to contractual terms. We will update you about future developments regarding this. Stained Glass wishes to thank Omuhle once again for being a part of our family and we wish her success in her future endeavours.

The actress is the second Magwaza character to exit the Stained Glass TV production after Siyabonga Radebe, who played her cousin Vika Magwaza.

Uzalo's publicist Nomfundo Zondi told Daily Sun that the show will communicate with viewers and the public about changes when the time is right.
