RIP LUZUKO, MPILO AND FUNSDISWA TVSA confirms that actor Mbulelo Grootboom, who plays the role of Luzuko Mxenge has exited Gqeberha: The Empire.

Monday, 11 December teaser reads: Hlumelo decides to let Zimkhitha bury her kids. Thulani finds it hard to accept his father's death.

The Gqeberha: The Empire December teasers also reveal that Zimkhitha (Zandile Msutwana) will also bury her children, Mpilo and Fundiswa with their father.

--

Thursday, 14 December teaser reads: Luzuko, Mpilo and Fundiswa are laid to rest. Hlumelo makes it known, at the funeral service, that he will avenge his brother's death. Msimelelo finds it hard to reconcile with his friend's death.

Vewers of the Mzansi Magic telenovela Gqeberha: The Empire have applauded the show for getting rid of Grootboom's character as they weren't pleased with his delivery as multi-millionaire Luzuko Mxenge.

Fans also acknowledge, while Grootboom has been a great actor on other shows, the role of Luzuko was not meant for him.

A fan @qhasi2, compared Grootboom's role to Hlomla Dandala's character, Zweli Dikana in The River and said the character was badly written and there's nothing he can do about it.

GQEBERHA: THE EMPIRE' VIEWERS REACT TO DEPARTURES @MinellyNowy: As long as my man Thulani is not the one dying then I'm good.

@FormerGrillz: Thank God. He needs to take Nobomi, Fundiswa and Mpilo with him. We can still save this show.

@miss_pearllyy: Does this mean it's going to be the end of it?

@Africa665: From 2 shootings and a coma yet he's still not grasping the role. Tat'uMxenge madoda.

Easily the dumbest character on #GqeberhaTheEmpire pic.twitter.com/TRZaYmAmew

Moqhaso (@qhasi2) August 17, 2023

That s because he is dumb, and now we can see him clearly now that Thulani isn t around to run things for him.

THE G R A C I O U S ONE (@_Thembalihle_) August 28, 2023

There s nothing he can do. The character is badly written. This is why Hlomla Dandala left The River. Playing a dumb character must be frustrating. Everyone around him is scheming. And he can t see it. But he s supposed to be this big self made mogul. Unrealistic

Moqhaso (@qhasi2) August 17, 2023

Oh wow! Actually. What an interesting take on this. And I couldn t agree more. Mbulelo Grootboom is an amazing actor, but this is pure disrespect.

That scene where he was beating up Thulani before tying them up on the boat, I could tell it was pure torture for him

Luzuko: do i look like a fool ?

Me: yes

Yep. The scene was so forced.
